Some pictures from my 30th birthday party, held with my dear friends Mary Helen and Kelly at the Red Lobster at Paducah. It was a lovely dinner, with some great lobster and crab (I can't get enough lobster, it's such an expensive delicacy), and even better conversation. Mary Helen was thoughtful enough to buy me a lovely (and quite delicious) birthday cake. Of course, just having a cake wasn't good enough, so she topped it with candles that don't blow out. I tried so hard to blow them out that wax eventually melted onto the cake. (I didn't know that candlewax was so edible)
But it was quite good, even with the extra icing, and was the perfect capper to a lovely evening with good friends. A great way to celebrate such a milestone.
