Gustav Leonhardt, harpsichord Pieces de Clavecin Baroque, Early, Keyboard Phillips, 1987 Louis Couperin is considered one of the most influential composers of keyboard music of the 17th century. He was the uncle of Francois Couperin, another noted composer and performer was a contemporary of J.S. Bach. Louis Couperin was the first of at least a dozen noted performers and composers from his family.
