More New Material

We are blessed this evening to have available to us a truly classic recording of one of the great pieces of Verdi's catalog, his Requiem. Our pleasure in listening to this beautiful music is doubled by the presence of Birgit Nilsson, one of the leading Wagnerian sopranos of the 20th century, whose repertoire was not limited to the German master. This is not intended to be a requiem for Nilsson, who died in December at the age of 87, but rather as an example of the power and grace of this wonderful, once-in-a-century voice.
