Boskovski was noted for conducting the annual Vienna New Year's concerts, and for reviving the tradition of conducting while doubling on violin, a tradition begun by the waltz master Johann Strauss. The Posthorn Sereneade was completed on 8/3/1779 while Mozart was in Salzberg. |
